Everyone ready for yet another '80s TV series set to be adapted into a movie?
No? Well too bad!
Sony Pictures and Escape Artist recently renewed their first look deal until 2015, and one of their first projects will be a new version of the old school CBS crime drama The Equalizer, which told the story of an aging New York vigilante with a mysterious past, with Denzel Washington stepping into the role that Edward Woodward originated!
Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal says:
"We have been partners with (Escape Artists) for more than a decade and we trust them implicitly for a simple reason: they have first-rate taste. They carefully choose the projects that they want to make and they have a very focused and disciplined development process. We couldn't be more thrilled to continue our collaboration with them."Despite our distate with the constant remakes being pumped out in Hollywood, we actually think this has potential to be pretty cool translated into modern day!
